Hello, true selfers!
When was the last time you played? Not just a scheduled game night or rigidly defined "fun." I’m talking about soulful play—that uninhibited, heart-led exploration that lights up your inner child and makes her do a joyful little jig.
This June in the True Self Society, we're diving headfirst, with giggles and gusto and cute bathing suits, into a theme that’s often overlooked in our busy, "adulting" lives: soulful play and how to reclaim your innate joy and spontaneity.
The essence we’re aiming to get back is the freedom to be silly, to be curious, to experiment without an agenda, and to connect with that pure, unfiltered joy that resides within each of us, often buried beneath layers of "shoulds," responsibilities, and the ever-present tyranny of the to-do list.
Why is this "lost art" so crucial to a thriving True Self journey?
Because soulful play isn't frivolous. It’s an essential and direct hotline to getting to know our most genuine essence in a world that prefers to teach us its definition of who we are.
When we allow ourselves to truly play, we shed the masks we wear for the world. The inner critic takes a much-needed nap (if not an exit altogether), and our intuition, that wise inner compass, gets a chance to speak up, often in whispers of delight or surprising bursts of creativity.
Really answer this: when were you last spontaneously playful? When did you last laugh until your belly ached, simply for the thrill of the moment? These aren't idle experiences; they are vital nutrients for the soul. They refresh our perspectives, dissolve stress, spark innovation, and remind us that life, at its core, is meant to be felt with a sense of wonder. Like that of a child.
This month, our society of more than 130 vibrant souls (thank you, thank you) are going to give ourselves a collective permission slip. Permission to be wonderfully, gloriously, and profoundly productive in the language of the soul. Through practices, essays, and chats, we’ll explore what soulful play looks like for each of us because it’s as individual as our fingerprints:
Rediscover childhood passions. Remember building magnificent forts from blankets and believing, truly believing, they were impenetrable castles?
Learn to use play as a portal to intuition.

The beauty of journeying through this theme together is the shared energy and encouragement. It’s knowing that you’re not the only one tentatively dusting off your playful spirit. It’s having a safe space to share your discoveries, your silly moments, and even your resistance (because sometimes, letting go of seriousness can feel surprisingly vulnerable).
So, let’s prepare to unearth those forgotten joys, to rediscover the activities that make our spirits sing, and to infuse our days with a little more sparkle and a lot more spontaneity. Let June be a month of unburdened laughter, creative messes, delightful detours, and the sweet, liberating feeling of simply being.
