Meet Tamika
From teen mom to CEO, creator-preneur, and literary pioneer, Tamika Jamison (formerly Newhouse) is the author of 17 novels, has landed on numerous best sellers’ lists and is the winner of seven African American literary awards.
Her original series, Traces of Mika, is a culture podcast of unscripted conversations with Tamika, her friends and family, and celebrity writers. She tours the country speaking about her battle with mental illness and depression while fulfilling her dreams and mentoring aspiring writers.
Tamika’s company, Delphine Publications, has published more than 300 books and launched the careers of hundreds of writers. She founded the AAMBC Inc. (African Americans on the Move Book Club) to champion stories, experiences, and perspectives of Black authors. Adweek called her “the Shonda Rhimes of Black Publishing”, and Adcolor nominated her as Innovator of the Year in 2020 for her work with her festival, Black Writers Weekend. Through her Our Lit Live brand, Tamika hosts immersive experiences where writers, readers, and experts connect around, celebrate, elevate, and nurture Black stories.
As a member of the African American Film Critics Association, Tamika helps amplify black writers in film and television through critical reviews and broadcasted conversations. She develops original films, shows, and reality programming through her own media company, Delphine Legacy Media.

True Selfers’ practice this week
Inspired by Phase Two of Tamika Jamison’s Traces of You workbook, write down three dominant positive emotions (such as joy) that best describe the emotional you. Why do each of these align with your true self?
Repeat this week’s daily hymn: “Finding and unlocking me is a healing spree."
Discover an inch more of your true self, then live it like it’s golden and let it shine. Jill Scott’s upbeat “Golden” can be your soulful anthem as you do it.
Journey on,
Netta Fei
